SHUTTLE 490 S
Tridem chassis, 49.5 m³ DIN load volume, 1-rotor system, 3 dosing rollers, from 180 hp
The SHUTTLE 490 S is a loader wagon with 49.5 m³ load volume according to DIN 11741 and three dosing rollers. It has a tridem chassis with hydraulic axle balance for superior driving comfort in all conditions.
The 2270 mm wide pick-up with double swath roller facilitates a clean crop intake. The SHUTTLE is equipped with a 1840 mm wide rotor. The theoretical cut length is 34 mm. The scraper floor is made of rugged steel (standard equipment) and lowered by 275 mm at the front for a better crop flow and lower power demand. The SHUTTLE has a movable front wall to increase the load volume and a forage loading flap for use as forage transport trailer as standard equipment. It can be equipped with up to 30.5 inch tyres.
By default, it is operated via ISOBUS from an ISOBUS-compatible tractor terminal. Other ISOBUS-compatible operator terminals can also be used.

- Short cut fodder with a theoretical cut length of 34 mm for good compaction in the silo through 53 knives on one level
- Easy and exact cutting for high fodder quality
- Knife shape and position of rotor tines ensure a pulling cut
- Optimum protection, reliable and smooth retraction of knives into the cutting groove through separate foreign-object protection for each knife
- Tool-less and therefore quick and easy removal of individual knives for maintenance or knife change
- Body:
- Easy change of loading method from loader wagon to forage transport trailer through stable body without diagonal brackets and ropes
- No accumulation of crop and reduction of friction forces thanks to a rigid contoured panel body with hydraulically movable hinged front wall and smooth insides and side walls in the front section
- High transport capacity despite compact vehicle size and quick emptying through hydraulically operated, hinged front wall
- Good visibility into body during filling and emptying through large viewing window in the front wall
- Easy harvesting through standard forage loading flap in the front wall
- Reliable mechanical locking of hydraulically operated tailgate also on poor roads
- Optional auto-loading with two measuring points, adjustable from tractor for rapid adaptation to changing operating conditions
- Dosing unit:
- Even fodder distribution on the silo through three dosing rollers for optimum fodder compaction and superior fodder quality
- Scraper floor:
- Loading with low force and good product distribution right from the start of loading through short conveying channel and 275 mm scraper floor inclination towards the front
- Long durability and high reserves through four strong round-link steel chains with specially hardened ends
- No chain skipping due to large engagement depth of chain links in the chain sprockets (approx. 95 %)
- No drive pin skew through paired link elongation
- Reliable crop transport through transport drive pin bars of rectangular tubing
- Easy checking of scraper floor and chain tension through automatic chain tensioner
- Readjusting of chain tension at front under the loader wagon in the area of the cutting unit
- Quick emptying through scraper floor that is hydraulically driven on both sides with feed and return line and high-gear 2-speed control
- Even crop feed ensures a good distribution in the silo
- Operation:
- Easy and safe operation allows high daily output
- By default, all functions are controlled via ISOBUS from the tractor terminal
- High-lift drawbar and knife bar can additionally be operated from the left side (in driving direction) of the loader wagon for easy coupling or maintenance work
